Health Coaching is defined by the National Society of Health Coaches as “the use of evidence-based skillful conversation, clinical strategies, and interventions to actively and safely engage patients/families/clients in health behavior change to better self-manage their health, health risk(s), and acute or chronic health conditions resulting in optimal wellness and recovery, improved health outcomes, lowered health risk and decreased healthcare costs.” (Source)

Cancer Health Coaching is an extension of Health Coaching that focuses on health goals related to a cancer diagnosis and help in navigating cancer care.

No. I am not a licensed physician or other provider and my role as your coach is to support you in your health journey, not tell you what to do. What I can do is work with you to understand instructions from your medical team and identify questions to ask your provider if you need more information. Your safety always comes first.

I can and will use my training as a Health Coach and the experience and observations I’ve gained over 14 years as an oncology nurse to help you identify reasonable goals and meet the challenge of caring for your health throughout cancer treatment. My focus is on empowering you through education. This mean educating you about your diagnosis, helping you understand the medical information you’ve been given and teaching you how to navigate the healthcare system.
